The company “EXPO 2027” Belgrade has awarded a contract for the purchase of 50 electric city buses and eight fast chargers to a consortium consisting of Chariot Motors AD, DAT Holding DOO, and Higer Bus Company Limited, worth EUR 33.2 million (excluding VAT), it was announced today.

The procurement includes low-floor electric vehicles equipped with an energy storage system based on supercapacitors, featuring fast charging via pantographs at terminals and additional charging in depots through CS-2 connectors, according to the company’s statement.

The statement added that the project also includes the installation of chargers at the Expo, Blok 20, Vukov Spomenik, and Blok 45 terminals, with full integration into Belgrade’s public transportation system.

“After the Expo, all purchased buses will be handed over to GSP Belgrade for management and will continue operating as part of the public city transport system,” said Danilo Jerinic, director of the “EXPO 2027” company.

The statement also noted that two valid bids were submitted in the tender for the procurement of electric buses and chargers.
