The Government of Serbia has adopted a decision establishing the public interest in the expropriation of real estate for the construction of a permanent deviation of the IIA-grade state road number 191, as part of the Bistrica reversible hydroelectric power plant project.

As stated in the document, the expropriation includes land and buildings located in the cadastral municipalities of Celice (Nova Varos municipality) and Pribojske Celice (Priboj municipality).

The goal is to ensure the conditions for the construction of the infrastructure necessary for the implementation of the energy project, in accordance with the Spatial Plan of the Special-Purpose Area of the RHPP Bistrica system and the Potpec hydroelectric power plant.

Elektroprivreda Srbije has been designated as the beneficiary of the expropriation.

The construction of the Bistrica reversible hydroelectric power plant is part of the state’s strategic plan to increase electricity production and improve energy stability in the country. It is expected to significantly contribute to the efficiency and security of the Serbian electric power system.

According to announcements, preparatory work on the construction project should begin this year.
