At the opening of the “Energy 2026” conference in Zlatibor, he stated that the most important reversible hydroelectric power plants (RHPPs) in the plan were Bistrica and Djerdap 3, with a total capacity of around 2.5 gigawatts.
The statement says that the start of preparatory works for the RHPP Bistrica is expected in the next few months.
– We will continue to support Elektroprivreda Srbije in order to secure all the necessary funds for the implementation of such an important project. We have also started activities on the preparation of documentation for the RHPP Djerdap 3 and we expect that the experience gained on the RHPP Bistrica project will help us – he said.
He added that the integration of more than a gigawatt of new capacity from renewable energy sources, primarily from wind and solar, was planned.
– This is not only a matter of meeting climate goals, but also a matter of energy independence and technological development – said Aleksic.
