NIS requests new special license from OFAC

NIS has requested a new special license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department, which will enable the company to continue its operations after March 20, when the previous license issued on February 20 expires, NIS announced.

The request emphasizes the importance of the company’s regular operations for the Serbian economy, especially in light of global developments and the situation on the world oil market, and points to the advanced negotiations on changing the ownership structure of NIS.

– NIS thanks all domestic and foreign institutions that support efforts to enable the company to operate smoothly and thus contribute to the energy stability of Serbia – NIS said in a statement.
