NIS submits application for new special license from US Treasury Department

On February 12, NIS submitted a new application to the US Treasury Department for a special license to enable the company to continue operating beyond February 20, when the previous license expires.

In the application, NIS emphasizes the importance of the company’s regular operations for the economy of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the ongoing negotiations on changing the ownership structure, stating that extending the operating license would provide the necessary timeframe for interested parties to finalize these discussions.

The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) previously issued a license to shareholders and interested parties for negotiations on changes in the ownership structure of NIS, valid until March 24, 2026.

NIS thanked all domestic and foreign institutions that supported the company’s efforts to enable its operations to continue uninterrupted.
