Vucic: New Sava bridge to be opened by end of March 2027

The new Sava Bridge in Belgrade, which is being built on the site of the Old Sava Bridge, will be opened by the end of March 2027, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said during a tour of the construction site.

Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said that the new Sava Bridge would be open to traffic until EXPO and that the only question was whether everything would be ready for the opening of tram traffic on it by then.

The new bridge, let us remind, will have two lanes for vehicles in both directions, tram parking lots, as well as pedestrian and bicycle zones on the sides. Its length will be 420 meters, and the main span of the bridge structure will be 166 meters and its width will be 38 meters. At the pedestrian viewing points, the height of the bridge will be 42 meters. The length of the access roads to the bridge on both sides of the river will be 620 meters.

The first delivery of steel structures for the new bridge over the Sava River arrived in Belgrade last month from the Chinese province of Jiangsu.

The removal of the Old Sava Bridge began last year and was completed with the removal of the steel arch at the end of July.

The old bridge structure will be stored in Batajnica, at the facility of the subcontractor Mostogradnja ING, and the location that has been mentioned for some time as its new address is between Zemunski kej and Lido on the Danube.

Opis:

Novi Savski most imaće ukupno 6 saobraćajnih traka, od čega su 4 automobilske i 2 tramvajske. Dužina novog mosta je 420 m, a biće postavljen na ukupno 6 stubova. Širina mosta je 38 m, a na mestima vidikovca za pešake je 42 m. Dvosmerni tramvajski saobraćaj će biti pozicioniran u sredini, a dvosmerni drumski saobraćaj će imati po dve kolovozne trake, sa po 6,5 metara po smeru.
