Serb Milan Nedeljkovic new head of BMW

Milan Nedeljkovic will take over as CEO of BMW AG on May 14, 2026, the company’s Supervisory Board decided. As announced, Nedeljkovic will replace Oliver Zipse in this position, who has been in the Management Board for more than a decade, and has been its head since August 2019. The Supervisory Board thanked Zipse for his exceptional contribution to the BMW Group.

- Milan Nedeljković stands out for his strategic vision, ability to implement key decisions and a pronounced entrepreneurial approach. He is known for managing resources very thoughtfully - whether financial or environmental - said Nicolas Peter, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMW AG. - He inspires people with ideas, brings them together around common values and motivates them to achieve top results. It is precisely such leadership that is key to maintaining the successful development of the BMW Group in a period of great change.

In 2023, Zipse’s term as CEO was extended beyond the normal retirement age until 2026. After that, he will, according to plan, leave the Board after the Annual General Meeting on May 133, 2026, thus completing 35 years of work at the BMW Group.

- Oliver Zipse has left a strong mark on the development of the BMW Group and we owe him a great deal of gratitude. He led the company through challenging global circumstances, including the Covid-19 pandemic, and clearly positioned the Neue Klasse as the most important strategic project in BMW’s history - said Peter. - His commitment to the company’s success has never been in question. He often took a clear position even when it was difficult, thereby contributing to BMW’s stability in turbulent times.

Milan Nedeljkovic, according to media reports, was born in Krusevac, has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2019 and currently heads the Production Sector. He began his career at BMW in 1993 as a trainee, and then held important management positions at the Oxford plant, as plant manager in Leipzig and Munich, and as senior vice president for corporate quality. His new position will run until 2031.

Martin Kimmich, Chairman of the Global Works Council and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said that Nedeljkovic was greatly trusted by the company’s employees.
