Chinese SHAC opens car parts production facility in Kac - EUR 40 million investment on 19,000 square meters

As announced back in May, during the visit of Novi Sad Mayor Zarko Micin to the SHAC R&D center in Shanghai, the Novi Sad plant will be the company’s first factory in Europe, with an investment of around EUR 40 million, while the first serial delivery to European clients is planned for the first quarter of 2027.
The Novi Sad factory is also expected to supply components to BMW. The first phase will cover 19,000 square meters, with the possibility of expanding capacity to up to 30,000 square meters during further development.
The company’s leaders announced that in the first phase of the factory in Novi Sad, it will employ 200 workers, 50% of whom will be highly educated professionals and 20% workers with secondary education.
SHAC was founded 34 years ago in Shanghai, and the roots of truck production go back to 1958, when the first vehicle of its kind was assembled in China.
In its factories, it produces and markets heavy trucks and buses, as well as vans with sound signaling, ME 100 minibuses, as well as tractors, truck trailers, and concrete mixer trucks.
It is a reputable supplier of a wide range of key components and automotive parts for the Chinese manufacturing activities of multinational companies such as General Motors and Volkswagen.
Worldwide, this Chinese company employs 8,000 people, in more than 16 factories and open offices in the US, Germany and Australia, and engages more than 1,500 engineers to further improve products and designs.
