This year, more than 600 exhibitors will present wines, spirits, delicatessen and tourist offers from Serbia and the region, as well as wines from famous regions from all continents. Over the course of four days, Belgrade will be a meeting place for professionals, wine enthusiasts, restaurateurs, traders and all those who believe that wine and food connect people, cultures and traditions.
In addition to several thousand wines, spirits and specialties, the fair’s program also includes a wide range of education, workshops, master classes, competitions and panel discussions, as well as unique tastings. The arrival of numerous wine experts has been announced, including holders of the prestigious title of Master of Wine, such as Rod Smith MW, president of the Masters of Wine Institute, the most important global organization of wine experts, the statement says.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how to taste wines like a Master of Wine expert, to explore the wine regions of Serbia, to get acquainted with the rich rakija tradition, as well as to attend lectures dedicated to indigenous Balkan varieties and the best wines of the world.
This year, the fair is once again attended by several hundred wine traders, importers and distributors from all over the world. A special B2B platform for scheduling meetings is available to professional visitors and exhibitors, which allows direct contact and establishing business cooperation in a comfortable, purpose-built space.
The finale of the fair will be the announcement of the winner of the major regional competition, the Open Balkan Wine Trophy, where wines from Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania compete for the title of the best, and are evaluated by international experts, including five experts with the title of Master of Wine. The jury will once again be headed by Caroline Gilby MW, one of the most influential international wine experts from our region. The results of the Rakija Trophy competition, which annually brings together the best brandy producers from the Balkans, will also be presented.
The culinary part of the fair - the Food Vision event - this year brings a program dedicated to regional gastronomy and hospitality. Visitors can expect culinary spectacles, chef competitions, food and wine pairings, master classes and a series of authentic gourmet gems from the Balkans.
