Located in the heart of the Balkans, Montenegro is one of the most promising investment destinations in the region of Southeastern Europe. Natural beauty, proximity to the mountains and the sea, attractive tax system - one of the most competitive in the region, as well as the fact that foreign citizens are allowed to own real estate and establish companies under the same conditions as domestic citizens, are just some of the reasons why investors from more than 125 countries of the world are already operating in Montenegro.

Figures show that the total inflow of foreign direct investments in Montenegro last year amounted to EUR 889.90 million. More than half of that amount was invested in real estate. It is true that investments in companies and banks are on the decline, but it is also true that the growth of the real estate market in Montenegro has brought the most prestigious world brands. Projects worth billions of euros are being developed throughout the country, and exclusive resorts are springing up along the coast. On Luštica alone, a real small town is being developed, in which more than EUR 600 million have been invested so far - and it is only 25% built.

Montenegro`s opportunities are great, however, the challenges faced by investors are also great. That`s why in this issue of the special edition newsletter we wanted to convey the voice of the economy - to look at the advantages of Montenegro as an investment destination, but also the challenges faced by economic development agents. Their voice is crucial: their messages and suggestions must be recognized and respected. This is the only way Montenegro can become more competitive and build a stable, predictable and attractive business environment.

We also presented projects that will - each in its own way - significantly transform the image of Montenegro. We paid special attention to areas that are still under development, and which in the future may become new drivers of economic growth.

With this special edition newsletter, we have just begun the presentation of Montenegro`s investment opportunities - and we do not intend to stop there. Agriculture, energy, innovative technologies... all these are sectors with significant development capacity. Every municipality in Montenegro offers numerous investment opportunities, and existing industrial zones have already attracted significant capital. However, the space for the development of brownfield projects is huge, and revitalization of abandoned industrial zones can become the key to sustainable development.

We will write about these and many other investment opportunities in more detail in the next editions. We will give you, who initiate investments, the opportunity to have your voice heard, and the decision makers the opportunity to recognize your needs and create an environment in which they will be realized faster and easier.
