The Serbian Railways Infrastructure company has opened the tender for the maintenance, training, technical support and interventions for the critical telecommunications systems GSM-R on the Belgrade-Subotica railroad. As can be seen from the documentation, the selected contractor will do this job over the course of four calendar years, that is, from this year to and including 2028.

As reminded in the documentation, within the project of the modernization and reconstruction of the Hungarian-Serbian railroad in the territory of Serbia, the procuring entity has built information and communications infrastructure which enables the establishment of critical and non-critical telecommunications services. Said infrastructure consists of devices such as routers, switches and other devices.

As added, the locations on the fast railroad are ranked in several categories: central/core locations (Belgrade Center and Batajnica, which is the geo-redundant center of the GSM-R system), regional locations (Novi Sad), sub-regional locations (the Interlocking facility Zemun, Batajnica, Indjija, Vrbas, Subotica) and other locations, The fast railroad also features 38 base stations.

As specified, the GSM-R system covers the rail route from Prokop to the Hungarian border (Kelebija) in the sense of ensuring the functioning of ETCS level 2 for train speeds of up to 200 km/h, as well as platforms for speech communication and data transfer between the rail staff (dispatchers, train drivers and rail staff).

Bids may be sent by September 19.
