Sofronijevic reminded that, on the section from Novi Sad to Subotica, or rather to the border with Hungary, with a total length of 108.7 kilometers, there were 12 station buildings, six of which, including the station building in Subotica, as well as the rail station in Novi Sad, were undergoing a static stability check.
– This is a clear indicator that after the tragedy that deeply shook us all, the state has started to tighten control, because the safety of citizens is an absolute priority. The Belgrade-Novi Sad section has already shown what investing in modern infrastructure means; since it was put into operation, it has transported over 12 million passengers, significantly improved travel conditions and brought concrete economic benefits to our country. I firmly believe that the railroad from Novi Sad to Subotica, after opening for passenger traffic, will be another successful example. However, I would like to emphasize once again that no section, station or facility will be put into operation without the necessary permits, because high-quality and safe infrastructure must be built – concluded Sofronijevic.
