- With the opening of production facilities in Serbia, we are significantly expanding our manufacturing capacity and strengthening our presence in the European market. For our partners in the automotive, aerospace, rail, and sports sectors, this means enhanced production capabilities, a more resilient supply chain, and more competitive pricing, stated Daniel Claret Viros, executive of the Catalonia-based company, on his LinkedIn profile a month ago. Just a week ago, the Catalan company announced another strategic move—acquiring a 50% stake in the Serbian manufacturing facility ATE Serbia.
- This investment reaffirms our confidence in the Balkans as a dynamic region for growth. The strategic partnership brings multiple advantages, such as increased production capacity to meet growing demand in the rail, marine, aerospace, and bus sectors, improved collaboration with local teams and clients, and joint innovation by leveraging regional strengths in manufacturing and design, the company stated.
According to JEC, Composites ATE will integrate the Serbian facility into its production network, delivering high-performance composite components in line with the premium standards expected from its headquarters.
However, the Spanish manufacturer has not disclosed the identity of its strategic partner in Serbia, nor the exact location of the facility.
In Serbia, industrial production of high-tech advanced composites for demanding sectors such as aerospace and automotive is still in the early stages. The arrival of companies like Composites ATE, with advanced technological standards and capabilities, could provide a significant boost to the development of this market.
