Notary services to get more expensive – Public notary fees increase

Every visit to a public notary will cost Serbian citizens more in the future, because, by decision of the Serbian Government, the value of a point has been increased, as well as a larger number of points for certain tasks. The Amendments to the Public Notary Fees state that the value of a point has been increased from 150 dinars to 180 dinars, so the price of some fees will “jump” from the current 600 dinars to as much as 1,440 dinars.

However, it is not only the value of the point that has increased - the number of points for compensation for citizens’ material expenses to a public notary - such as costs for postal services, banking transactions, including the costs of opening and using a public notary account for clients, photocopying documents, and making certified copies for official use - has been doubled for certain cases.

The new tariff book states that for documents on mortgages and legal transactions, the party is obliged to reimburse the public notary for costs in the total amount of eight points (and under the old one there were four points), and for annexes to documents on legal transactions and mortgages, inheritance statements, powers of attorney, consent of spouses and other statements four points, and under the old one there were two.

The compensation for the material costs of the public notary for issuing extracts from the real estate register and the water register from the database of the Geodetic Cadastral Information System maintained by the Republic Geodetic Authority also “carries” twice as many points and twice as much money.
