CLS: Buses for EXPO without tender and at higher price

The state will procure 100 electric buses for the needs of EXPO 2027 without a tender and at a price which is higher than the market price, announced the Center for Local Self-Government (Centar za lokalnu samoupravu - CLS).

– An agreement has already been reached with the Chinese factory Higer, whose representative in Serbia is DAT Holding. The procurement entails 100 electric buses, of which a half will run on batteries, and a half on super-capacitors, and it includes chargers and nine bi-articulated buses. The value of the whole job is EUR 150 million, although the market price of the electric buses of the Higer brand, depending on the model and type, is around EUR 400,000 – says the announcement by CLS.

Let us remind that the information that, in two years, the streets of Belgrade will be filled with electric-powered bi-articulated buses for the first time and that, out of a total of 100 electric buses that the state will purchase for Expo 2027, 15 will be of this increased capacity - with two pivoting joints and a length of 25 meters, was first reported by eKapija recently. Nine of these vehicles, as eKapija was told at the time, will transport passengers from the National Stadium rail station to the Expo 2027 area (on a route about 1.4 km long), while the other six will operate from Block 45 to the Expo 2027 area. This confirmed eKapija’s information and writing from four months before, regarding the fact that the republic would purchase 100 electric buses for the Expo.
