Year-ahead inflation expectations of the financial sector reduced from 3.9% to 3.5%

Inflation expectations of the financial sector for the year ahead were reduced from 3.9% in April to 3.5% in May, with the continued movement within the limits of the goal set by the National Bank of Serbia, according to the May survey of the Ninamedia agency. The expectations of the financial sector in the Bloomberg survey for June also amounted to 3.5% and are the same as in May, the National Bank of Serbia announced.


The short-term inflation expectations of representatives of the economy, according to a survey by the Ninamedia agency, remained unchanged for the sixth month in a row and amount to 5%, which represents the average value around which they hovered during the previous year as well, according to the NBS.

- Medium-term inflation expectations of the financial sector were kept at the same level in the May survey compared to the previous month, and amount to 3.5% for two years ahead, or 3.3% for three years ahead. According to a survey by the Ninamedia agency, medium-term expectations of the economy continued to range from 4% to 5% - expectations for two years ahead are 5%, while expectations for three years ahead are at the level of 4.3% - the NBS announced.
