The inflation in Serbia has been reduced to within the target band and, by the end of the year, it is expected to be at around 3%, the governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Jorgovanka Tabakovic, said at the Annual Assembly of the Association of Serbian Banks. She emphasized that the banking sector in Serbia remained well-capitalized, profitable and highly liquid, as also confirmed by the positive ratings of international rating agencies.

– The inflation is now at a level of 3.8%, the base inflation has dropped to 4.6%, and we expect that trend to be stable – Tabakovic said and emphasized that there was no alternative to the relative stability of the dinar exchange rate.
