Year-on-year inflation in Serbia in May at 3.8%

Prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in May 2025 in relation to April 2025 increased by 0.2%, on average, announced the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

Consumer prices in May 2025 increased by 3.8% in relation to May 2024. Consumer prices in May 2025 in relation to December 2024 increased by 1.7% on average.

Observed by main groups according to the destination of consumption, in May 2025 in relation to the previous month, increase of prices was noted in the groups Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.4%), Restaurants and hotels (0.6%), Clothing and footwear (0.5%), Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.4%), Health (0.3%) and in the groups Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Recreation and culture (each by 0.1%).

Decrease of prices was noted in the group Transport (-1.0%).

Prices of other goods and services mostly remained unchanged.
