Export of goods from Serbia in first four months of this year higher by 8.2%, import by 12.5%

The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January-April 2025 amounted to around EUR 24.85 billion, which was an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period last year, announced the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

The value of exports amounted to EUR 10.83 billion, which was 8.2% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 14.01 billion, which was 12.5% increase when compared to the same period last year.


The deficit amounted to EUR 3.18 billion, which was an increase of 30.3% compared to the same period last year.

The export-import ratio equaled 77.2% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 80.4%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the countries with which Serbia has signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 57.7% of total external trade.

Serbia second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since the country’s gained surplus in external trade amounted to EUR 800.3 million, and the export-import ratio equaled 204.7%, resulting from the exports of electricity, cereals and produces thereof, road vehicles, oil and oil derivatives, medical and pharmaceutical products.
