EUR 1,000 threshold exceeded only by Belgrade and Bor – Employees in Serbia earn RSD 108,013 on average in March

Compared with the same month last year, average gross salaries and wages and average net salaries and wages for March 2025 increased by 11.5% in nominal terms and by 6.8% in real terms. Increase of gross salaries and wages, and net salaries and wages, in the period January-March 2025, relative to the same period last year amounted to 11.2% in nominal terms, i.e. 6.4% in real terms.
Median net salaries and wages for March 2025 amounted to RSD 81,793, meaning that 50% of employees realized wages and salaries up to the mentioned amount.
Residents of Belgrade and Bor at the top of the list
The biggest average salaries are still paid to residents of the central Belgrade municipalities - Stari grad (RSD 191,397), Vracar (187,205), New Belgrade (179,953) and Savski venac (175,776), where the net salaries far exceeded EUR 1,000.
The threshold was also exceeded in the municipalities of Vozdovac (144,956), Zvezdara (141,442), Zemun (128,565), Palilula (123,636) and Rakovica (122,658).
Outside of Belgrade, the only town with an average salary above EUR 1,000 was Bor, with RSD 132,728.
Lowest salaries in Serbia’s south
On the other hand, municipalities in Serbia’s south are still recording the lowest average salaries.
In March, the lowest salaries were paid to employees in Presevo (RSD 72,188), Vranjska Banja (72,253) and Vlasotince (73,867), which is nearly twice as low as the income in the central Belgrade municipalities.
