According to Jeremy Jauncey, the CEO and founder of Beautiful Destinations, the award-winning creative agency behind some of the most innovative world travel brands, social networks have transformed the travel industry, Euronews reports.

–The leading travel bodies are suggesting that up to 90% of travelers will book travel based on the content that they see on social media first. So for many of us, when we are first thinking about or are inspired by a destination, it is because we are scrolling through Instagram or we`re on TikTok, he says and adds:

– As much as 40% of younger travelers aren`t even using Google search or Google Maps anymore. They `re going into TikTok or Instagram, typing in the hashtags of places, or the restaurants they want to go to, so as to explore them beforehand. So I think it`s a huge shift that is starting to happen within these platforms for the way people actually discover travel.

Often described as the environmental changemaker, Jeremy is a big advocate for sustainable travel.

–We need to push people to go to places that they perhaps haven`t gone to before. Social media is an amazing way to do just that, Jeremy says.
