Denmark to produce artillery missiles using Serbian technology

The Danish company SkyPro Propulsion has received all necessary permits to start production of 122mm artillery missiles in Vandel near Billund using technology from the Serbian company EDePro, with a plan to produce up to 10,000 pieces annually, Danish state television TV 2 reported.

SkyPro's CEO, Michael Kjaer Soerensen, points out that the project is "huge" and that the company has all the necessary resources - from technical equipment and investors to support from the Danish Ministry of Defense.

- We have been working on obtaining permits for a year and a half, and now we are ready to start production - said Soerensen.

Production, according to TV 2, should begin in the summer of 2026.

The production facility will use 37 former NATO bunkers at the old air base in Vandel, which were used to store bombs and explosives during the Cold War. The facility will be highly secured, with video surveillance and motion sensors, and 110 new engineers and workers will be involved in production.

The missile will be compatible with the Danish PULS system, purchased from Israel, as well as with the American HIMARS systems. They have a range of over 40 kilometers and carry a 24-kilogram warhead.

The missiles will use technology supplied by the Serbian company EDePro, known, as it was said, for many years of exports to NATO countries and expertise in the development of missile systems.

It is added that the Danish authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Intelligence Service, have thoroughly checked the project, "taking into account Serbia's ties with Russia."

Soerensen pointed out that Serbia was known for its close ties with Russia, adding that over the summer, as reported by TV2, arms exports to Western Europe had been stopped "under Russian pressure," which had probably had an effect on the thoroughness of the Danish authorities.

- We have carefully checked our supplier. This is a company with unique expertise in missile production, which has exported to several NATO countries for years. That is why I have no doubts about cooperating with them - said Soerensen, reports TV 2.

SkyPro plans to have missiles in NATO standard, and one of the target locations for exports is countries such as Germany, France, Finland, but also Ukraine, where hundreds of missiles are currently used daily.

Soerensen added that the company's goal was to become the first manufacturer of heavy military weapons in Denmark and to launch a wider domestic defense industry.

EDePro is a Serbian defense company from Belgrade that is engaged in research, development and production of missile propulsion systems, rocket engines, unguided and guided missiles, as well as other components for military and civilian applications.
