Reviewing contracts and public procurement, as well as conducting a detailed analysis of spending and financial flows related to major projects, such as EXPO 2027, Rio Tinto, the Milos Veliki highway and the Belgrade Waterfront, are among the priorities that will be the focus of representatives from the Student List. Representatives of this list, which secured an absolute majority in the National Assembly during the recent parliamentary elections, held their first post-election press conference yesterday. The location chosen was symbolic: Pionirski Park, which had been inaccessible to most citizens for over a year and a half due to a tent settlement, dubbed "Cacilend."

Jovan Vujicic, a candidate from the Student List, emphasized that, regarding public spending, it is essential to audit financial flows for projects such as the stadiums in Leskovac and Loznica, Corridor 10, as well as funds spent during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this first press conference, representatives of the Student List outlined the steps that must be taken during the transition period, leading up to the official formation of the new Government of Serbia, and highlighted their key priorities once they assume power. One of the personnel changes requested is the removal of Vladimir Lucic, the CEO of the state-owned company Telekom Srbija.

– We demand the removal of Vladimir Lucic and everyone responsible for decisions that placed Telekom at the service of political influence and led to the unreasonable spending of funds. We demand an end to private business dealings funded by Telekom, the cessation of unjustified payments and the initiation of legal proceedings against anyone found responsible for such abuses. Telekom is a distributor. It must not act as the editor-in-chief' of Serbia, neither Telekom nor any other operator – stated Mirjana Nikolic, a candidate for the Student List.

Representatives of the Student List and the Students in Blockade movement have urged employees across various institutions to prevent the destruction of documentation during the transitional period leading up to the formation of a new government. They also requested that any such attempts be reported to the email address uzbunjivaci@studenti.org.rs, adding that they stand in support of anyone who chooses to become a whistleblower, noting, furthermore, that such individuals are protected by law. They emphasized that they have already been contacted by individuals from various ministries and other public institutions regarding this matter.

– Anyone who has broken the law must be held accountable through legal proceedings, regardless of the position they held or currently hold – stated student Filip Ubovic.

In addition to calling for a review of contracts, tenders and financial flows, representatives of the Student List have demanded the resignation of officials across numerous sectors, ranging from the judiciary, the prosecutor's office and the police to media outlets, alleging that these individuals violated the law to benefit the former administration. Among other things, the immediate and irrevocable resignation of the leadership of the BIA (foremost among them its director, Vladimir Orlic) and the VBA (including its director, Major General Djuro Jovanic) was demanded, as well as the resignation of the President of the Constitutional Court, Vladan Petrov.

Svetlana Stanarevic, a candidate from the Student List, stated that the dismissal of all police officers who violated the law is being demanded, specifically Marko Kricak, Chief of the Criminal Police Directorate, Radoslav Repac, Commander of the Gendarmerie, Igor Zmiric, Commander of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, Vladimir Jerinic, Chief of the Police Administration in Valjevo, Goran Colic, Chief of the Technical Directorate, and Miroslav Paunovic, Assistant Minister and Chief of the Internal Control Sector. Furthermore, the resignation of the Director of Police, Dragan Vasiljevic, is demanded, given that, as stated, he has drastically violated all ethical and legal principles to which his position binds him.

She added that officials competent to manage the aforementioned organizational units should be temporarily assigned to these positions to ensure their smooth functioning in the coming period.

– The Student List also demands the urgent reinstatement of all officials and staff members who were previously removed from their posts, without valid grounds and for political or other unprofessional reasons, and reassigned elsewhere – stated Stanarevic.

A demand has been made of the Supreme Public Prosecutor to ensure that all public prosecutor's offices act lawfully and impartially regarding cases that have drawn significant public attention and caused public alarm and to promptly inform the public about these actions, specifically concerning cases handled by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade. Furthermore, the Chief Public Prosecutor for Organized Crime, Mladen Nenadic, is urged to take immediate action on all cases of public interest, most notably the "Canopy" (Nastresnica), "General Staff" (Generalstab), and "Sky Communications" (Skaj prepiske) cases. Nenadic is also called upon to take all necessary measures to establish the criminal liability of individuals holding public prosecutorial office, foremost among them Nenad Stefanovic and Miodrag Markovic.

The Student List has also called for the reopening of investigations into several cases that have long been of public interest, including the Krusik affair, the Doljevac toll booth incident, the murder of Aleksandar Nesovic, the demolitions in Savamala, the assassination of Oliver Ivanovic, the helicopter crash and many others.

– If police officers, as well as officials from the Tax Administration and the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering, do not return to the working groups as soon as possible, the Public Prosecutor for Organized Crime is urged to exercise their legal authority to initiate disciplinary and criminal proceedings against the heads of the relevant institutions who are preventing this – Vujicic pointed out.

Introduction of interim administration at the public broadcaster

Mirjana Nikolic noted that, although the Director of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) has resigned, and the Editor-in-Chief of the news program was previously dismissed, the Student List is now demanding the resignation of Deputy Director General Dejan Jovanovic.

She further stated that the proposal, put forward on behalf of the students and the Student List, to introduce an interim administration at RTS was coordinated with the representative trade unions at the broadcaster. She added that a priority for the Student List will be ensuring the full composition of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM).

Pionirski park, ukupne površine 3ha 60a 13m2, nalazi se u najužoj centralnoj zoni Beograda. Današnji Pionirski park, a nekadašnja Dvorska bašta, čini zaštićenu okolinu nepokretnih kulturnih dobara: zgrade Starog dvora - danas zgrada Skupštine grada Beograd i Novog dvora - danas sedište predsednika Republike Srbije.

(zelenilo.rs)
