The Memorandum was signed by Marko Cadez, President of the CCIS, and Slobodan Djinovic, Director and Founder of Orion Telekom, in the presence of Carlo Ruiz, NVIDIA Vice President for Enterprise Solutions & Operations EMEA.
– With the Memorandum, we are launching the development of a Serbian business language model, or rather a series of models, based on NVIDIA Nemotron architecture. It is a model that understands the Serbian language, Cyrillic and Latin alphabets, our business terminology, regulatory context and the specifics of our industries – said Cadez.
According to him, the global AI competition is entering a phase in which the advantage is no longer measured by the speed of the completed task, but by the ability to manage the entire business differently.
– AI does not bring the greatest value by speeding up an email or condensing a document, but brings real transformation when it connects multiple steps, systems and decisions into a single coordinated workflow – said Cadez.
Companies that only add AI to old systems, he adds, will get small savings, while those that map out processes around new technology will gain a new competitive position, and competitiveness is the main task of the CCIS.
– We bring together more than 130,000 companies in various sectors, from banking, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals to energy, food production... Our responsibility is not just to sign memoranda. Our responsibility is to turn this infrastructure and this model into a concrete competitive advantage for the Serbian economy, and to do so without wasting time – he emphasized.
Cadez remind that, in February of the current year, he attended the opening of the first Orion AI factory, which, as he said, is the first commercial sovereign AI infrastructure in Southeast Europe equipped with the most modern NVIDIA chips with the aim of data from our country remaining in Serbia.
Djinovic emphasized the importance of signing the Memorandum, which, according to him, will enable the creation of a series of small specialized AI models intended for domestic and regional companies, and announced the expansion of the company’s business and growth.
– We have sent an initiative to the Government of Serbia with the aim of building a national AI factory. We expect that this investment will be at the level of around EUR 800 million, and the state will, according to our calculations, have benefits of EUR 2.5 billion. This is something that will create a huge gravitation towards AI technologies, that is, we will be generators of new income and jobs – said Djinovic.
After signing the agreement, Carlo Ruiz, NVIDIA Vice President for Enterprise Solutions & Operations EMEA, held an exclusive executive masterclass “AI & the Future of Business” at the CCIS for leading representatives of the Serbian business community.
