Green light for first phase of reconstruction of Nis-Preševo-state border railroad: Replacement of track superstructure and substructure, construction of underpasses, adaptation of station buildings ahead

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has issued a confirmation of the notification of works to Serbian Railway Infrastructure regarding the reconstruction of the Nis-Presevo-state border (with North Macedonia) rail line.

The project concerns the Nis-Brestovac section (from km 244+600 to km 267+430), specifically the first phase of works on the Medjurovo (entry)-Belotinci (exit) segment, from km 248+751 to km 254+581.

As specified, the works include replacing the track superstructure and substructure; constructing underpasses at the Medjurovo station (km 249+421) and Belotinci station (km 253+905.41), building a reinforced concrete slab culvert at km 252+047, constructing platform walls, canopies, and noise barriers at both stations and refurbishing the station buildings as well as the signaling and security and phone and telecommunications facilities at both locations.

The project also entails the renovation and adaptation of the station buildings at both Medjurovo and Belotinci, along with site landscaping and the construction of parking areas at both stations.

Additionally, the project covers the relocation of rail signaling and telecommunications cables, the laying of new rail fiber-optic cables and relocation and other works involving telecommunications and power supply installations.
