Nis Data Center to use closed-loop water system and more advanced technology than Kragujevac facility

The future data center in Nis is set to utilize a closed-loop water and cooling system, preventing excessive water consumption, stated City Council member Ivan Blagojevic.

He noted that reports claiming the facility would consume excessive amounts of water were incorrect.

– It involves a closed-loop water and cooling system. We will present all relevant information to the public during the public review process to demonstrate that there is no cause for concern – Blagojevic said.

According to him, the data center that has been operating in Kragujevac for five or six years has caused no adverse effects, and the Nis facility is expected to employ even more advanced technology.

Blagojevic also announced the possibility of organizing study visits to Kragujevac so that interested citizens could see firsthand how such a facility operated.

He added that the fans and chillers used to cool the equipment would be positioned to direct noise upwards, away from the ground level.
