Burger King one step away from Serbia – Hiring for first restaurant in Belgrade begins

The well-known American fast food chain Burger King is preparing to enter the Serbian market, and the first step has already been taken - the company has published advertisements for the hiring of workers for a restaurant in Belgrade.

As can be seen in the current advertisements, Burger King is looking for a marketing specialist, as well as shift managers and team members in the restaurant.

Although the vacancies confirm that the opening of the first restaurant in Belgrade is being prepared, the exact location and opening date are not yet known.

The arrival of this famous chain in Serbia has been announced before, it was talked about back in 2020. Now, however, there are more concrete indicators that this could soon change.

In early February this year, Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic met with representatives of Burger King, and after the meeting she stated that the company’s plans to invest in Serbia and open a larger number of restaurants across the country were discussed.

– A constructive meeting with representatives of Burger King and a discussion about their plans to invest in our country and open a larger number of restaurants across Serbia – Mesarovic stated on her Instagram profile at the time, assessing that it was confirmation that the company recognized stable growth, development and a favorable business environment in Serbia.

Burger King already present in the region

Burger King is already present in several markets in the region. It currently operates in Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and North Macedonia, while Serbia should now be a new market for this chain.

The company is considered one of McDonald’s’ biggest competitors in the hamburger segment, and its most famous product is the “Whopper” burger.

Burger King was founded in 1954 in Miami, and today it is one of the world’s most famous fast food restaurant chains. According to the company, the network includes more than 19,700 restaurants in over 120 countries.

For now, it remains unknown where exactly the first Burger King in Belgrade will be located and when it will welcome its first guests. What is certain is that the chain has already started looking for people who will make up its first team in Serbia.
