NASA at EXPO 2027 too?

Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Bela Balint has announced that there is a possibility that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will participate in the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027, which will be held next year in Belgrade.

– I think it is an exaggeration to say that we are a space superpower, but on the other hand we have potential in both processing and storing data using our data centers and science and technology parks – Balint told reporters before a meeting with the Serbian Ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Dragan Sutanovac.

Sutanovac stated that American partners were interested in cooperating with Serbia and people involved in space research, that there was already a company in Serbia that cooperated with NASA and that the Serbian Embassy in Washington D.C. had helped with promotion.

– We are in negotiations with NASA to participate in EXPO. If they show up with their own stand, I believe that we will then have the opportunity for a large number of people interested in and engaged in scientific work and education to make various agreements and for Serbia to position itself even better in the world of cyber engineering, or space exploration – added Sutanovac.

Serbia signed the Artemis Agreement in July 2026 in Washington D.C., thus becoming the 69th member of this international space initiative.
