A step towards full profile on Y-arm to Subotica – Requirements issued, technical documentation preparation to follow

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has issued the Roads of Serbia with location requirements for the construction of a Y-arm on the E-75 highway, on the section border crossing Kelebija-Subotica South interchange in full profile. The conditions have been issued for the construction of a right lane and graded intersections, as well as temporary deviations.

The construction of temporary deviations, as indicated, is necessary precisely because of the construction of the Y-arm. These deviations are planned in the area of the Subotica Baja railroad, as well as in the area of the graded intersection Subotica South.

The section border crossing Kelebija-Subotica South interchange (Y-arm) is about 24 km long and connects the Kelebija border crossing with the Horgos-Novi Sad highway. The left lane of the highway has been built from the Kelebija border crossing to the Subotica South interchange.

The subject of the project is the development of design and technical documentation that would define the necessary works for the construction of the E-75 highway (sections of the Kelebija border crossing-Subotica South interchange) in full profile, from km 1+320.00 to km 23+619.00.

By the way, last autumn, Corridors of Serbia submitted to the relevant ministry a Request for a decision on the need for an environmental impact assessment of the Y-arm construction project.

The construction works of the first phase of the Y-arm construction (the Subotica bypass), the left lane, have been completed and at the end of 2019 the road was opened to traffic, and now the subject is the right lane of the highway. This lane was designed with a standard carriageway width of 10.70 meters, while the left lane will be adjusted to the same width. In certain places near rest areas and graded intersections, the carriageway width is 11.85 meters.

The project envisages three grade-separated intersections: Bajmok, Verusic and Subotica-south.
