BMTS Technology to receive EUR 3.34 million in state subsidies for production automation in Novi Sad

BMTS Technology doo Novi Sad will receive EUR 3.34 million in state incentives for an investment project to automate the production of electrical and electronic equipment for motor vehicles. The total investment value is at least EUR 13.37 million, and the project should be implemented within three years.

The Ministry of Economy has concluded an agreement with BMTS Technology doo Novi Sad on the allocation of incentive funds for the implementation of an investment project related to the automation of the production of electrical and electronic equipment for motor vehicles in Novi Sad.

According to the agreement, BMTS Technology has committed to implementing the investment project within three years of submitting the application and making an investment in tangible and intangible assets worth at least EUR 13.4 million. At least 25% of the mandatory investment must be financed from the company’s own funds, i.e. from sources that do not contain state aid.

The state has approved EUR 3.34 million in incentives for this project, which corresponds to 25% of the eligible costs of investments in tangible and intangible assets. The money will be paid in three tranches, during 2027, 2028 and 2029, with prior proof that the company has fulfilled its contractual obligations.

The first tranche, in the amount of EUR 1.4 million, is planned for 2027, after the company proves an investment of at least EUR 5.7 million. The second tranche of EUR 1.4 million is planned for 2028, with proof of an additional investment of at least EUR 5.6 million, while the last tranche of EUR 505,254 should be paid in 2029 after an investment of at least EUR 2 million.

BMTS Technology doo Novi Sad was founded on June 6, 2019, and is owned by BMTS Technology International GmbH. It manufactures electrical and electronic equipment for motor vehicles.

The contract states that the BMTS Group specializes in the automotive industry and has production facilities for the production of turbochargers for internal combustion engines in Serbia, Germany, Austria, Mexico and China. The Group’s main markets are European countries, while in 2024 it achieved an estimated consolidated revenue of EUR 631.1 million.

The contract stipulates that BMTS Technology must not reduce the value of tangible and intangible assets achieved through the implementation of the project during a period of five years after the completion of the investment. The initial investments must remain in the same area for at least five years after the completion of the project.

The company also undertook to provide practical training to a certain number of students in its production facilities at the request of secondary schools, as well as internships for interested students at the company’s headquarters.

The state also provided for control mechanisms in the contract. The ministry and other competent bodies can verify the fulfillment of contractual obligations and have access to documentation. If the company fails to remedy the identified deficiency within the stipulated period, the Ministry may terminate the contract and demand the return of the funds paid, increased by the statutory default interest.
