Air Serbia has announced that one of its aircraft will be out of service for three months due to damage incurred during ground handling. It is stated that the ATR72-600 aircraft with registration number YU-ASF was damaged yesterday at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.

The damage was caused by contact between the service equipment of an external ground handling operator and the Air Serbia aircraft, while providing services to another airline.

– The temporary withdrawal of the aircraft from the fleet may affect operations during the summer season, including possible changes to flight schedules, replacement of aircraft types or other operational adjustments. Air Serbia is making maximum efforts to minimize any impact on passengers – the airline said in a statement.

As noted, the relevant authorities participated in the investigation of the incident, and the safety of passengers and crew is Air Serbia’s priority.
