Solution for NIS possible this fall – Technical matters nearing completion

By the end of September or before the end of September, negotiations on the sale of Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) could be completed, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced, while appearing on TV Prva.

– For the first time, I am a bit optimistic, I think that technical matters are all coming to an end. I hope that we can complete everything by the end of September, or before the end of September. I hope even earlier, to be honest, but I don’t like to promise something that later turns out to be unrealistic – Vucic said.

Just two days earlier, he had stressed that “it is essential how the talks between the Russians, Hungarians and Serbs will end, but I believe that we are close to a final solution.”

The state, he added, will do everything to ensure that there is no fuel shortage in Serbia.
