Post of Serbia starts implementing new digital service eMailCarrier

The Post of Serbia has started providing a new digital service, eMailCarrier, which enables the reception and transmission of electronic messages, i.e. electronic delivery of invoices, notifications and other electronic documents to a single electronic mailbox (eMailbox) on the eGovernment portal.

In the range of digital services, eMailCarrier is a counterpart to classic registered mail, intended for private and business users and available 24 hours a day. As explained, the eMailCarrier service is based on a digital platform and modern information and communication technologies, which enable citizens and business users to receive invoices, notifications and other documents in eMailboxes more efficiently, faster and with the highest level of security, while being notified of receipt via email, SMS and Viber messages, at the user’s choice. Along with evidence of sending and receiving the shipment, a delivery confirmation is included, as well as the possibility of tracking the shipment.

The eMailCarrier service, as stated by the Post of Serbia, represents an important milestone in the modern digital development of the company, which takes active control over the digitalization of delivery. It is stated that the new service of the Post of Serbia offers an opportunity for the development of digital services and services related to e-commerce and the further development of competition, and that it was designed based on the assessment of the further reduction in the physical volume of classic letter mail.

It was emphasized that this is a service that the Post of Serbia has the exclusive right to offer to utility companies, telecommunications companies, banks and other companies that issue invoices and send other notifications and other important documents to users, and it allows recipients to receive all digital mail in one place, with confirmation of delivery.

The Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Andjelkovic, said that he believed that the future of the Post of Serbia rested with the young and that it was necessary to rejuvenate the collective, in the era of digitalization and robotization. Andjelkovic also announced that the Post of Serbia would open a new logistics center in Subotica by the end of the year and added that robots would also be introduced in that center, which would improve postal services, stating that it would be the sixth such center in Serbia.

He pointed out that the Post of Serbia was increasingly improving and digitizing both for the sake of its employees and for the sake of its service users, because the work of the employees was easier, while the users received a higher quality service.

The Minister of Information and Telecommunications of Serbia, Boris Bratina, said that June 7 - Post of Serbia Day did not only represent 186 years since the beginning of postal traffic in Serbia, but also demonstrated the trust that citizens had in this company, but also in the high level of professionalism of its employees.

The Director of the IT and eGovernment Office, Mihailo Jovanovic, said that the mission of the Post of Serbia was to provide postal services to all citizens, with constant development and digitalization of services.

– The information system for registered delivery of electronic documents and electronic mail, popularly known as eMailCarrier, is a centralized platform of the Post of Serbia whose purpose is to provide the service of electronic delivery of documents and electronic mail to a single electronic mailbox on the portal – emphasized Jovanovic.

He pointed out that the platform had been developed based on the needs of citizens and businesses for the services of so-called qualified electronic delivery, as a trusted service that guaranteed delivery, and which represented the aspiration to ensure the sustainability of postal services in the digital age.

Organized postal traffic in Serbia began on June 7, 1840, with the opening of the first post office in Belgrade.
