Construction of new rail station in Novi Sad begins – Less traffic congestion in Petrovaradin from autumn

In Novi Sad, work has begun on the construction of the technical-passenger station in Rumenacki put, near the roundabout, as confirmed by the Mayor of Novi Sad, Zarko Micin, in a post on social media.

As he stated, work is underway on the ground floor, the construction of access roads, pedestrian and bicycle paths and parking spaces, and the new station will be intended for passengers of high-speed trains.

– Soon, high-speed trains that we are proud of will be boarded here – wrote Micin.

According to the announcements of the contractor, the new station should be completed by the end of September, which will give Novi Sad another modern and functional rail junction and additional capacity for public transport.

– This brings us closer to relieving the load on the Petrovaradin station, and by renovating station wings A and D of the main rail station, we are getting closer to a complete solution to the problem of rail traffic in Novi Sad – said Micin.
