In a post on Instagram, the minister stated that these gas pipelines would create a new direction for natural gas supply aimed at strengthening the region’s energy security.
“I also emphasized how important the connection and integration of Serbia and the Balkans into the European electricity market are, as well as the fact that the carbon emissions tax introduced by the EU is negatively affecting that process, directly harming Greece, which is why a joint effort in Brussels is necessary,” the Serbian minister added in the post.
She stressed that this would increase energy security and contribute to lowering electricity prices throughout Southeastern Europe.
“To achieve this, we need to continue investing in strengthening the transmission network and interconnection capacities, as well as building power lines and new energy corridors that will further connect the entire region. I will continue these discussions with ministers from the region during the summit in the coming days,” Djedovic Handanovic said.
