Consortium from Serbia submits best bid in tender for Adriatic-Ionian Highway in Montenegro – Section from Zaljevo to Sukobin designed by CIP and AG Institut

The consortium of companies Saobracajni institut CIP and AG Institut submitted the best bid in the tender for the development of a preliminary design for the Zaljevo–Sukobin highway section. This 23-kilometer road is part of the planned Adriatic-Ionian Highway, and the selected consortium submitted a bid worth EUR 2.2 million.

The subcontractors are the companies Geomax, Geoprojekt and Sigurnost from Podgorica, and Lavian inzenjering from Tivat.

The joint bid of Via Project, CDS Project and Optimusproject was ranked second.

The companies DB inzenjering and Gradjevinski institut Makedonija from Skopje were excluded from the public procurement procedure.

The contract execution deadline is 12 months from the date of the signing of the contract, while the deadline for submission of approved geodetic bases, geology and the project phase of defining the route is 6 months from the signing of the contract.

The decision on the selection of the most favorable bid was published at the end of March on the website of the Montenegrin Public Procurement Procedures.

Monteput announced the tender for the development of the preliminary design of the section from the Zaljevo interchange to Sukobin in December, and the deadline for submitting bids was until January 26. The estimated value of the job is EUR 2.6 million, excluding VAT.

This section is 23 kilometers long and represents the continuation of the highway from the Gradac interchange to the Zaljevo interchange, where the Bar-Boljare Highway and the Adriatic-Ionian Highway overlap. The road was considered within the framework of previously developed preliminary designs, and the proposed corridor was included in the Spatial Plan of Montenegro until 2040.

This section is planned to have supporting and functional facilities, including gas stations, rest areas, a maintenance base, as well as toll collection facilities.

The Adriatic-Ionian Highway is planned to extend along the entire eastern coast of the Adriatic and Ionian seas, from Italy to Greece, via Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania. The total length through Montenegro will be around 100 kilometers and is divided into three sub-sections, the third of which is the Zaljevo–Sukobin section.

The first sub-section will be 58 kilometers long and will run from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina at the village of Nudo in the municipality of Niksic, via the village of Cevo in the municipality of Cetinje, to Gradac, west of Podgorica, where it will connect with the Bar–Boljare Highway – another key road planned to connect the south and north of the country.

The second section, 48 kilometers long, will coincide with the route of the Bar–Boljare Highway from Gradac to Zaljevo.
