The consortium of private transporters has officially requested that the City of Belgrade increase payments from the budget by more than 6%, the Center for Local Self-Government has learned. In the document, which the Center for Local Self-Government has had access to, the BG Bus Prevoz consortium is requesting an increase in the unit labor price for diesel and hybrid buses, and a similar request will be made for gas-powered buses.

CLS reminds that 47 billion dinars have already been allocated to transporters in Belgrade this year alone.

– It is obvious that this represents a bottomless hole in the city budget and that this city administration has brought the capital to a dead end. By systematically destroying the city enterprise GSP Beograd, indiscriminately privatizing public transport in the capital, and allowing a few private individuals to do whatever they want and however they want, the city government has made all Belgraders hostage to its wrong policies – the Center for Local Self-Government points out.
