Turkish company wins nearly EUR 13 million contract on reconstruction of road between Valjevo and Kosjeric

The Turkish company Ek-Pet Insaat Sanayi Taahhut ve Ticaret Limited Sirketi has won a contract to reconstruct the road between Valjevo and Kosjeric worth approximately 1.5 billion dinars (approximately EUR 12.7 million).

Ek-Pet is a construction company focused on infrastructure projects. It has its own branch in Serbia, registered for the construction of roads and highways, and is already engaged in the rehabilitation of the Kosjeric-Pozega road.

The Turkish company made the most favorable offer out of a total of 4 bidders in the public procurement procedure for the rehabilitation and improvement of the state road IB 21 on the Valjevo (bypass) – Kaona – Kosjeric section.

The tender was announced in July last year, and the value of the job was estimated at EUR 15 million (excluding VAT).

The subject of the contract includes the development of the main design and execution of heavy maintenance works (rehabilitation and improvement) of the state road IB 21, on the section from km 153+200 to km 173+200, with a total length of 20 kilometers. The works include preparatory activities, earthworks and pavement works, road widening, bridge rehabilitation, improvement of the drainage system, slope stabilization, as well as the installation of traffic signals and equipment.

The works were commissioned by the PE Roads of Serbia, while the procedure was implemented in accordance with the rules of the European Investment Bank, which is financing the project.

The contract was signed on March 26, and the specified deadline for the implementation of the project is 19 months.
