MOL gets green light from US to continue negotiations on purchase of majority stake in NIS, deadline extended until May 22

MOL has received approval from the United States to continue negotiations on the purchase of a majority stake in NIS until May 22, MOL announced.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department accepted MOL’s request and extended the deadline for negotiations on the purchase of a majority stake in NIS, and this license extension allows the parties to finalize the purchase agreement and supporting documentation, in accordance with the basic terms of the agreement signed in January this year, the company stated, as reported by RTS.

At the same time, US financial institutions have been enabled to participate in the implementation of this transaction.

In the meantime, OFAC has also issued a new operating license to Naftna industrija Srbije until April 17.
