Tender for overhaul of 1,250 freight rail cars of Srbija Kargo company worth EUR 16.7 million announced

A tender for overhaul and repair of around 1,250 freight rail cars of the Srbija Kargo company has been announced on the public procurement portal of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – ECEPP (EBRD Client e-Procurement Portal).

As stated in the documentation, the subject of the procurement is the overhaul and repair of around 1,135 freight rail cars of the E series (5379, 595 and 596) and around 115 freight rail cars of the S series (455).

The procurement is being carried out through an open two-stage tender procedure with pre-qualification, and the estimated value of the works is EUR 16.67 million.

The tender is part of a wider project to renew the Srbija Kargo rolling stock, which is being implemented with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project aims to modernize freight rail cars and improve the efficiency of rail freight transport.

As stated, the implementation of the project is also expected to reduce the negative impact on the environment, through more efficient and modern rail transport, as well as increase the capacity and quality of services in freight rail transport.
