Austrian Neuroth to produce up to 35,000 hearing aid earmolds per year in Belgrade – Plant in Zemun Polje to be renovated

The company Neuroth Production SEE has submitted a request to the Secretariat for Environmental Protection to decide on the need for an environmental impact assessment for the project to produce earmolds for hearing aids at 7a Batajnicki drum Street, in the Zemun Polje neighborhood.

The production is planned to be organized in the space that the company leased from the company Galenika Magmasil. The facility will be adapted for the production of custom-made earmolds made of acrylic and silicone for hearing aids that are worn behind the ear or have a speaker in the ear.

The project envisages the reconstruction of the facility with a change in its external appearance, the construction of a canopy above the main entrance, and the installation of an auxiliary container-type building intended for equipment storage. As stated in the documentation, no new parking spaces or roads will be built, and the existing infrastructure will be used instead.

The adapted space will host a production process that includes the production of otoplasty using 3D printing, followed by mechanical and chemical processing of the elements and assembly of the final product. The finished hearing aids will be packaged for distribution, while the facility will also provide warehouse space for storing raw materials and intermediate goods.

The initial planned production capacity is approximately 11,000 pieces per year, with the possibility of increasing in accordance with market needs, while the maximum capacity with the planned equipment can reach 35,000 pieces per year.

The technical documentation and conceptual design of the project were developed by Neoncon Tech.

The deadline for submitting opinions on the project is March 31.
