Stojcic: Clock on Republic Square damaged during high-pressure washing – Belgrade City Cleaning Company to pay for damage

Two of the four clock mechanisms on Republic Square were dismantled on February 28 to determine the cause of the malfunction, because they occasionally did not function properly, and were sent to the manufacturer Bodet in France to determine the cause of the malfunction. After a detailed analysis, which lasted seven days, the manufacturer informed us that it was mechanical damage caused by the action of water under high pressure, said the city’s chief urban planner Marko Stojcic, as reported by Beoinfo.

– Having received this information, we tried to determine the moment when it happened. After contacting all city services and companies, as well as reviewing the video recording, it was determined that the day after the clock was installed, the team from the Public Utility Company “Gradska cistoca” washed the clock in an improper manner. Namely, they washed the upper part of the clock under high pressure, as a result of which the impact of the water jet through the condensation hole led to damage to the clock mechanism. The new mechanisms arrived from the manufacturer yesterday, they were installed last night and the clock is now functioning properly. The damage caused will be charged to the PUC Gradska cistoca, which caused the damage – stated Stojcic.

In the meantime, as he pointed out, he did not want to make a statement until all relevant information had been collected.

– Once again, I ask the busybodies not to lie to the people and not to invent something that is not true, because everything I said about the clock mechanism and the clock itself is easily verifiable, since it was purchased from an eminent clock manufacturer, and the construction was made in an art workshop. Also, the incredible persecution of me personally because of this situation shows how those who would like to govern this city think. We continue to improve the city and carry out important projects, which have either never been implemented in the city or have not been implemented in the past half a century.
