EPS's plan, as he said, is to invest approximately EUR 1.2 billion in new production capacities from renewable energy sources, within the next three years.
- Good financial results and the reduction of the company's debt by a third created the conditions for new investments, without a great burden for the company - said Zivkovic, at the panel "Energy 4.0: Transformation of the system for a sustainable economy".
He added that there are plans for new projects, primarily the reversible HPP "Bistrica" and 1 GW of solar energy, but "there is also a gas power plant in Nis, which should not only contribute to the strengthening of base energy within the EPS, but will also contribute to the diversification of sources".
- In the light of global uncertainties, this is of great importance. Recently, we officially started the revitalization project of "Vlasinski HPP", and I am proud of the fact that after 43 years since the start of work, we have successfully completely renovated our only reversible HPP "Bajina Basta" - said Zivkovic.

- We need to have more courage and determination, as our ancestors had, to build capital production capacities. I will emphasize that the countries that use nuclear energy as their base energy are actually the most technologically and industrially developed countries - Zivkovic concluded.
