NBS: Inflation within target band, GDP growth this year 3.5%

Inflation in Serbia is within the target band and will remain so in the medium term, said the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Jorgovanka Tabakovic.

She pointed out that inflation in January was 2.4%.

– Year-on-year inflation by September this year will fluctuate around the central value of the target, which is 3%, with a deviation of plus or minus 1.5%, and due to the low base effect at the end of the year it will be around 4% – Tabakovic emphasized at the presentation of the NBS monthly inflation report.

According to the NBS’s estimate, the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in Serbia, which was 2% in 2025, will be 3.5% this year.

She added that GDP growth would be driven by domestic demand and investments.
