Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has announced talks in Belgrade on state aid for the Prva Petoletka factory in Trstenik, in order to find a long-term solution for its operations and survival.

– Expect an invitation to a meeting for Prva Petoletka in the next seven or eight days. Even the EUR 2 million we provided from the Development Fund is not enough, more is needed. We will have to bring a big investor to Trstenik – said Vucic in Velika Drenova near Trstenik, where the reconstructed “Dobrica Cosic” Elementary School was opened.

He said that while everything had been good and salaries regular and high in Prva Petoletka, the citizens had wanted the factory to be theirs, to be transferred to their ownership, and now that salaries had not been received for several months, because the workers were the owners and not the state, they were asking the state to help.

He pointed out that the state could help, but that it could not be a “bottomless well” into which millions would be poured every year without any results.

Vucic promised that the state would help with the construction of the Mala Drenova-Milutovac-Velika Drenova road, the Seliste-Stopanja bridge, as well as a water supply system and a cultural center.
