Croatian startup Tabu, which measures salaries in IT sector, expands operations to Serbia

Croatian startup Tabu, which enables salary comparisons in the IT sector, has expanded its operations to Serbia. Founder and CEO Vatroslav Mileusnic said that the company already operated in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that now all employees in the IT sector in Serbia would be able to enter salary data, which would provide insight into prices on the local labor market in that sector.

According to him, the platform already has around 18,000 users in Croatia, which is around half of the entire IT sector, and it provides a fairly good insight into the amounts of salaries for each of the specific positions.

The idea behind this startup, as Mileusnic told Biznis.rs, is to increase transparency in the labor market and provide everyone with access to relevant information on salaries and benefits.

The platform allows employees to anonymously share their salary data and compare it with others in similar positions. It offers companies aggregated data that helps them set competitive offers and attract talent, he explains.

- From the very beginning of Tabu, I knew that the problem of salary non-transparency was not limited to Croatia. Through communication with the community and inquiries from Serbia, it became clear that there was a need for such a platform on the Serbian market as well. The ultimate goal is the same as in Croatia – to help people get paid fairly, increase salary transparency and facilitate the conversation on this topic - says Mileusnic.

He hopes that the platform will provide a large enough sample to ensure the accuracy of the data and become one of the key places for salary analysis in the Serbian IT sector.
