Serbian raspberry yield declines - Yield down by one third, imports at record high

In this century, production was lower in only a few years - 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2012 and 2013 - which confirms that 2025 is among the weaker seasons for domestic raspberries.
Exports significantly weakened
Lower export volumes were partly "covered" by the increase in export prices, but more expensive raspberries on the world market are simultaneously stimulating production in other countries.
Ukraine stands out in particular, as it has sharply increased production and thus, both in terms of quantities and prices, seriously increased the pressure on Serbian exporters.
By the value of exports, Serbia was first in the world for at least 19 consecutive quarters until the third quarter of 2025, but in the third quarter of 2025 it fell to second place: Poland achieved EUR 95 million, ahead of Serbia with EUR 92.9 million, while Ukraine was third with EUR 62.3 million.

An even more pronounced decline is seen in the volume of exports: in the third quarter of 2025, Serbia slipped to third place, behind Ukraine. Poland exported 33,000 tons, Ukraine 25,400, and Serbia 19,000 tons, ahead of China (13,000) and Chile (10,300 tons).
Prices rise sharply
The price increase was in favor of exporters from Serbia: the average export price increased from 3.54 EUR/kg in the 2nd quarter to 4.88 EUR/kg in the 3rd quarter of 2025.
Among the largest producers, Serbia had by far the highest price – Poland was at 2.87 EUR/kg, Ukraine 2.45, China 2.67, and Chile 3 EUR/kg.
Higher export prices than Serbia, but with significantly smaller quantities, were recorded by Slovenia (9.35), Bosnia and Herzegovina (5.26), Croatia (6.26), and Bulgaria (5.97 EUR/kg).
At the same time, Serbia recorded record imports in the 3rd quarter of 2025 – a total of 5,013 tons of frozen raspberries (with a negligible share of other berries).
The largest imports came from Poland (3,063 tons), followed by Ukraine (502 tons), Moldova (337 tons), Belarus (303 tons), Bosnia and Herzegovina (217 tons) and Albania (86 tons), which is the largest quarterly import volume so far.
