President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic told RTS that it was possible that NIS would pay for 85,000 tons of oil that was in Omisalj in Croatia on January 5 and that they could immediately deliver them to Serbia.

He added that at the same time they could order, and that he had asked NIS to do it, another tanker with 140,000 tons of crude oil.

Let us remind that Jadranski naftovod (JANAF) announced on December 31 that the US administration had issued a license for the continuation of oil transportation to NIS, which would be valid until January 23, 2026.

– In the meantime, 100,000 tons of oil were produced here in Serbia – said Vucic.

According to him, the works in the Pancevo refinery should start on January 3 and he hopes that they will be completed in less than 15-16 days. He said that it was important for the people of Serbia that there were no problems.

– Now we will be able to last until March 23 or 24. We have also prepared our amendments to the legislation and everything else to react in accordance with the needs of the citizens – he said.
