Tender for organization of opening and closing ceremonies of Expo worth EUR 20 million announced

The EXPO 2027 company has announced a tender for the organization and performance of the opening and closing ceremonies of this international exhibition, which will cost 2.3 billion dinars or about EUR 19.9 million. Companies with experience in organizing opening ceremonies at “mega events of an international character” have the right to participate, and one of the conditions is an internationally recognized award for ceremonies at “mega events,” writes Nova.rs.

The project, as stated in the invitation, should follow certain guidelines, and the first on the list is that Serbia and Belgrade should be the “essence of the program,” and then it should also be relevant to Serbian culture, to “touch Serbian culture with a style and vision directed towards the future and technology” and it would be good that the narrative be based on Serbian identity and that “clichés” be avoided.

The second request is that Serbia be “positioned globally, to present the true Serbian identity in the world and to create a ceremony that gives the global audience a modern vision of the country.”

Among the guidelines is to cooperate with Serbian talents, as well as to make the theme and identity of the “Expo” part of the creative concept.

It is also stated that one of the phases includes the production of video material and music, the creation of costumes and sets, scenes and scenography, as well as the recruitment of participants, volunteers and holding auditions.

It is also stated that the final phase is the performance of the ceremony, and that the deadline for the opening ceremony is May 14, 2027, and for the closing ceremony August 15, 2027.
