EBRD awards contract for supervision of Vlasina Hydropower Plants reconstruction

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has awarded a contract for supervision of the reconstruction of the Vlasina Hydropower Plants, as part of the project to rehabilitate this energy system in Serbia.

The project client is Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), and the contract was signed on December 1, 2025.

The contract, worth EUR 2.49 million, was awarded to a joint bid by Gruner Stucky Ltd from Switzerland, Gruner Balkans d.o.o. from Belgrade and Netinvest d.o.o. from Belgrade, acting as a consortium.


The subject of the contract includes professional and technical supervision of the execution of works in accordance with FIDIC conditions, professional supervision in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Serbia, as well as support in the implementation of environmental and social standards during the implementation of the Vlasina Hydropower Plants reconstruction project.

The planned completion date of the contract is January 15, 2031. The procurement was carried out as a single-stage consulting procedure, following an open procedure of the EBRD, in the field of energy.

Let us remind that, at the beginning of November, a contract was signed for the reconstruction and modernization of the Vlasina HPPs. The contract was signed by Dusan Zivković, the General Director of EPS, and representatives of the contractor Energotehnika Juzna Backa.

– The total value of the project is EUR 109.7 million and envisages the reconstruction and modernization of production units, auxiliary systems and hydromechanical equipment. The suppliers of the main equipment of the units, namely turbines and generators, will be renowned world companies, Andritz Hydro and Gamesa Electric – said Zivkovic at the time.
